This report shows retirement and retirement intentions of women by their labour force status, characteristics of women who have retired, previous job details of women who have retired, their reasons for ceasing their last job before retirement, characteristics of women who intend to retire from the labour force, and previous retirement status of women who have not retired from the labour force.

This publication presents information about people aged 15 years and over who are not in the labour force: that is, neither employed nor unemployed. The data measure the potential supply of labour not reflected in employment and unemployment statistics, and measure the characteristics of that potential supply.

It is includes details about whether women not in the labour force wanted to work, reasons why they were not actively looking for work, or were not available for work, and their main activity while not in the labour force (e.g. retirement, voluntary work, caring for children).
