This publication reports on a range of measures under the National Healthcare Agreement. This includes life expectancy for women in Victoria, a compairson of five year survivial rates for different cancers, and a compairson in life expectancy for Indigenous and non-Indigenous women.

The age-specific death rates, number of deaths, infant mortality rates, median age at death, and age at death by age group are available for Victorian women and presented in a time series (1997-2008). Some data is available for overseas born Australian women and Victorian regional women. The Victorian Burden of Disease study includes data for Victorian women that details their potential reduced healthy life expectancy due to disability, disease and/or health conditions. Data includes the disability adjusted life years (DALY) and years of life lost (YLL) for a variety of conditions, and a comparison is made to the 1996 data from the previous study. The Top 20 causes of burden of disease in DALYs and the Top 20 causes of mortality burden in YLLs for Victorian women is also available.  Further Info
