This report examines the extent to which gambling problems are related to the experience of negative life events, and identifies the independent correlates of reported gambling problems among the Indigenous population of Australia by jurisdiction and remoteness. This survey includes data for Victorian female Year 8 students regarding their views on gambling and gambling behaviour. Data includes the prevalence of gambling, which types of gambling are preferred and responses to a series of statements such as 'Gambling is entertaining', 'Gambling is a waste of time', and 'Gambling is a way to make money'. This report contains data from two surveys conducted in South Australia and Australian Capital Territory that present a set of best predictors of problem gambler status for Australian women. Indicators include the frequency, duration, money gambled, impaired control, social behaviour, raising funds, emotional responses and irrational behaviours. This survey includes gambling related data from 1999 for Victorian women such as the percentage who have gambled in the previous 12 months and those who are regular gamblers (at least once per month).
