This report provides a profile of heart disease among Australian women. Chapter 7 discusses the role of risk and protective factors for CVD and then describes nine modifiable factors of interest: blood pressure, blood cholesterol, body weight, physical activity, diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, and psychosocial measures. Data are presented to describe how many women are affected by these factors and what proportion of the burden of disease can be attributed to each factor.
