This report presents data from the combined Medical Indemnity National Collection of public and private sector claims. Data on claims that were current at any time over the period of 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007 are included. The report includes the circumstances that gave rise to claims, the medical specialities involved in claims, the people making claims, the size of claims and the length of time they have been open. Data for women includes the type of allegation and the age at which harm occured.

The Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health (ALSWH) includes the satisfaction rating given by Australian women to a number of areas relating to GP visits. These include the amount of time spent with the doctor, the doctor's explanation of their problems and treatment, the doctor's interests in how the women felt about having the tests, treatment of the advice given, the opportunity to ask questions, personal manner, technical skills, and the cost of the visit. This report contains Victorian Patient Satisfaction Monitor data relating to the satisfaction of Victorian women in maternity wards at Victorian public hospitals. Data includes; whether women thought they had an active say in making decisions about what happened during their labour and/or birth, whether they were given any contradictory or confusing information about feeding the baby, a rating on the help/advice received on feeding the baby, whether an interpreter was available if needed and previous contact with midwives.  Further Info
