The report contains information on the capacity of residential aged care homes, their residents and resident characteristics, levels of dependency among residents, and admissions and separations. It contains age and sex specific data for respite and permanent residents, together with information according to English-speaking status, Indigenous status, the length of stay and geographical location. The characteristics of residents are also recorded such as marital status, birth place, preferred language, usual housing status, prior living arrangements and levels of healthcare needs. Some information is also listed for younger people living in residential aged care settings (over 40 years).
